AUSTIN, Texas – Houston Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear will be returning to the Dynamo’s training facility next month after a two-week absence due to the birth of his first child.
The Dynamo have announced the return of the Dynamo training facility and training sessions will begin on Friday, March 19, at 7 p.m.
ET with a team presentation and photo op at 11 a.m., as well as a pregame event for fans at the stadium.
The game will be televised on UniMas, with a live stream available on the club’s website.
Kinnear has been away since mid-November when his wife, Lauren, gave birth to a daughter, daughter-in-law and son.
Kinnear had to pull out of a training session in late January due to a blood clot in his heart.
After a few days, Kinnear was diagnosed with a blood clot in his lungs, but he’s been able to return to training.
The two-time MLS Cup champion and four-time U.S. Soccer Men’s National Team Coach of the Year has been in Dallas since he was hired by the Dynamo in August, when he had two seasons left on his contract.
Kunnear has a history of working closely with Houston’s youth and has worked with the Dynamo Academy since 2013.
In 2016, Kinnears hired Dynamo Academy assistant coaches and players Matt Bahr and John Barnes, both of whom played in the youth academy with the Houston Dynamo.
